Woodmont Books began as an online
bookstore selling used and rare Texana, notably historical works and
items pertaining to the visual arts in Texas.
In 2000 the company branched into publishing with its
well-received Texas Painters,
Sculptors, & Graphic Artists: A
Biographical Dictionary of Artists in Texas before 1942, by John and
Deborah Powers. Most
recently, the company issued The
First Texas Navy by John Powers, a comprehensive history of the
naval force of the Republic of Texas in the crucial years 1836-1837.
Woodmont Books invites the
submission of manuscripts dealing with other aspects of Texas life and
history, and continues to maintain its bookstore offerings of used and
rare books. |
